After co-founding architectural studio uek in 2008 in parallel to her tenure as assistant professor at TU Wien (until 2022), Katharina Urbanek has founded her own practice in 2018 (based in Vienna). The focus lies on researching and designing public and private spaces that are best able to interpret and activate the potential of the existing and offer a variety of possibilities for everyday use, which in turn emancipate its users. Projects range from individual and collective residential buildings to urban planning.
