In their project Jennifer Berger and Elisabeth Haider thoroughly investigated the performance of prefabricated rammed earth to use its potential for the program of a birth center. The characteristics of the material provides a special atmosphere of shelter and produces a certain comfortable indoor climate. A chimney in the center of the building forms together with the vertical circulation a sculptural element which defines the public spaces.
